Kenya issues a single entry eTA to Aussie citizens valid for 90 days or three months from its issuance time. You must abide by the validity of your eTA and stay in Kenya only during the validity period – 90 days. However, if you want to increase your stay in Kenya, you can avail the facility of eTA extension.
Can Australians Get A Kenyan eTA On Arrival
As of January 2021, Kenya has announced for the nationals of all countries who require a eTA to enter Kenya to submit applications for eTA, before they start their trip. Kenya eTA on arrival is no more a second option for all regular travellers who don’t want to apply for eTA in advance.

Can Australian Overstay Kenya eTA?
If Australian travellers want to stay longer than 90 days, they can request a eTA extension by visiting the Immigration Headquarters in Nairobi in person.
You can stay for additional 90 days in Kenya on the eTA extension, which makes your total stay to 180 days in Kenya.
What Is Kenya Transit eTA?
Kenya also grants transit eTA for those Australians who want to catch a connecting flight through Kenya. Visitors require a Kenyan Transit eTA if they need to leave the airport after arriving in Kenya, and their total stay would not exceed 72 hours.
Australians who only want to transit through Kenya within 72 hours without leaving the airport do not need a transit eTA to enter Kenya.
Australian citizens can also use a Kenya transit eTA for short one or two-day excursions in Kenya. For long layovers, they should apply for a single entry eTA.
